It was a cold bright Sunday afternoon, encouraging weather for a little gardening in the East Bay where recent rains have encouraged lots of weeds to crowd the roses and invade the borders. It was also time to feed the roses, which are sprouting ambitiously in their endearing magenta way.

Photographically, I repeated the same mistake I've already described here of forgetting about the ISO and leaving it at whatever the previous setting was, so in this case it was 1000 when it should (by the rule book) have been lower. Yet I wonder if the interesting glow of the lily might be partly due to the high ISO.
