Camera & Sunlight

Monday afternoon the October sun in San Francisco was bright but not hot like last week. By good luck I found myself with another engagement to spend time with Mabel Watson Payne after my own work day at the library had ended. Reaching her neighborhood a bit early (as usual) I consumed a large latte at a sidewalk cafe (for a surge of factitious energy), warming up the camera at the same time. It seemed like a good idea to start out in black and white – and mitigate the washing-out effect of all that sunlight – but in fact it seemed like I got more interesting results after switching back to color.
